Case Study
Scentsabilities Case Study
Stacy Barnett, founder of Scentsabilities Nosework, is an avid and successful nosework competitor, talented instructor, and AKC scentwork judge. When she decided she needed a new logo and website redesign, she turned to Click and Repeat for help.

01.
Logo Design
We began the project by working on her logo. Stacy picked out a number of inspiration images that she felt captured the style she found visually appealing, as well as several images of her own dogs, then I got to work.
I presented her with a number of options to choose from, and one design stood out right away — we tweaked it, making small changes, until Stacy felt it embodied her brand and her business perfectly.
The final logo design was inspired by several pictures of her Nosework Elite Champion and Summit Title holder, Judd, including the image to the left, which she often uses to represent her brand and which ultimately we also used on her homepage.

We also created a few different color versions, and I presented her with the final images in several formats (.ai, .png, .jpg) and colors (all gray, all white, red and gray, all red, etc).

02.
The Old Website
After finalizing Stacy’s logo, we moved onto redesigning her website.
Stacy felt her old design was outdated; she had built it herself, and the software she was using often caused a page or multiple pages to be inaccessible for periods of time.

redesigning scentsabilitiesnw.com
Again I had Stacy identify designs she liked, as well as several she didn’t like. I used WordPress and the Divi theme to create three different homepage designs that she could provide feedback on. There were a few aspects of each design she liked that we ultimately included in the final design.
We migrated over all of her existing blog posts and podcasts, so that she didn’t lose any content, and I created video tutorials that I embedded within the site itself to help Stacy maintain her site moving forward.
Her new website uses bright colors and cut outs to create a modern, eye-catching design; it quickly gives readers a sense of what she has to offer and directs them to more information on training with her or to her list of upcoming webinars. Reusing the image that she’d previously had set as her logo as our hero background image created a sense of familiarity for repeat visitors seeing the new design for the first time — it lets them know they are in the right place, and helps orient them on the new site. The site also makes it easier than ever for visitors to find her podcast, and to browse upcoming seminars and events.
The launch went smoothly. Today Stacy loves the new design and feels confident maintaining and updating the site herself.

Melissa quickly created the most incredible logo for me — one that REALLY represents who I am and what I do… then Melissa very expediently designed a new and slick website for me. I absolutely love it.”
