A New Look: Rebranding Click & Repeat
After 9 years, it was time for an upgrade.

I first started working with dog trainers on their marketing back in 2017, and quickly realized I’d found my niche. As someone deeply embedded in dog training (first with my own dog, and later working as a trainer for someone else), I understood the language of the trainers I was working with and my marketing and design background meant I had valuable information I could offer them to help them grow and thrive.

When I landed on the name Click and Repeat, and realized the domain name was available, I immediately knew it was the perfect fit for the new business — a nod to both the clicker training so many of our clients use every day and to the very goals we wanted to achieve on their website… getting them clients that would click with their business and literally on their websites.

The logo? That took a little longer.

Working on my own logo as a logo designer is one of the hardest projects I’ve ever taken on. Ultimately, I ended up with a “good enough” option, that has served us pretty well for the last 9 years… but this year, it was time for a change.

Redesigning & Reimagining Our Branding

While I usually enjoy playing with designs and exploring concepts that might work for new dog training logos, turning the lens back on my own business was surprisingly difficult. When I designed the first Click and Repeat logo, I landed on a geometric mark that combined an arrow and a fox’s face. It did it’s job… it looked clean. It got us started.

When I began reimagining our logo I knew I wanted to keep our signature purple, and thought I probably wanted to stick with the fox theme… but wasn’t even 100% committed to that. I began the same way I do with a client projects — combing through pinterest, saving ideas and logos I liked into a inspirational mood board.

Then I began sketching out symbols and shapes and ideas and more…

I chatted with a few other designers and even considered hiring someone to design something for me, because the project was eating up so much time… but ultimately felt like I had a picture in my head that I couldn’t fully communicate to someone else, and began putting my ideas into adobe illustrator.

I thought I had “it” with that first concept in the top left corner — but I posted it in a group of graphic designers for feedback and they pushed me to try again; they felt it reminded them too much of the Firefox logo. So I went back to the drawing board, iterating on that original idea and playing with some new ones. When I landed on the concept on the right, I knew I was getting close.

Meet the New Fox

The new Click and Repeat logo is a modern evolution of that original geometric fox, not a departure from it. The bones are still there — the same DNA that’s represented us for nine years — but the fox elements are now more distinct and intentional, and the hard, straight lines of the original have been softened with curves and color.

The rebrand includes:

  • A refreshed fox mark, available in two versions: a “head only” version reminiscent of the original logo, and a new full-body fox, each suited to different placements across our branding
  • A bold, dark stroke outline that gives the new mark a graphic, confident presence
  • An updated color palette — our signature bright purple carries over from the old branding (some things are too iconic to let go of!), joined by two new purple shades and refreshed blues and blue-grays
  • New typography that feels more like us
  • Supporting brand elements, including a swishy fox tail and a repeating pattern design, that give us more flexibility across websites, social media, and print

It’s still unmistakably Click and Repeat. It just finally looks like the business we’ve grown into.

We’re rolling out the new branding gradually over the next few weeks. Starting today, you’ll see the new logo live on our website, with more updates to come across our social channels and marketing materials. Later this year, we’ll be launching an entirely new website design built to match our new look, and focused more around the most important part of our business: our clients.

What’s Not Changing at Click & Repeat
